Outfit Ideas for Your Next Park Day

By Kayla, Maker and founder, Ears of Joy. Written from the studio, by the person who makes them.

Dressing for a park day in everyday clothes inspired by a character you love, without wearing a costume, is an art. The key is suggestion, not imitation. Here are some of my ideas for character inspired outfits, and how to incorporate some of my favorite ears!

Styling bold ears for a character focused outfit

For bolder ears, you can certainly wear a simple outfit to let the ears do the talking, or, you can think about which patterns and colors complement both the ears and the character you are basing your outfit on.

Consider key visual characteristics, shapes, patterns, and colors that make you think of the character you are planning your outfit around. The key is to avoid clashing with the ears, but rather pulling out a couple details from the ears you can complement with your other outfit pieces.

Letting your style drive the look

Maybe bounding as a character is not really your vibe. You can still don a pair of mouse ears that will complement your outfit and feel like you! In these cases, you may even consider a custom pair of ears that match some of your favorite pieces of clothing.

Look for colors and patterns you would like to pull out from your outfit, and wear a pair of ears that complement that!

My favorite looks

There is no right or wrong way to dress for the parks, as long as you are happy, confident, and comfortable! Looking for ideas? Take a look at some of my favorite outfits I have worn in the parks!
